Oatmeal and Baby Constipation

without comments

The typical first solid food for American babies is single grain rice, but since we are talking about Baby Constipation remedies, or in this case, prevention of constipation, oatmeal may be a better choice as the first food. Modern nutritionists do have different opinions for first foods; some include meat as a recommendation. If you are going with a cereal, my experience has been that oatmeal results in better digestibility. I am not sure if this is because the rice cereal has no fiber, but I know my son enjoyed the oatmeal more, and definately went to the bathroom much better with oatmeal. So if you are giving rice, try out oatmeal as your first line of a baby constipation remedy. It’s an easy to use Home Remedy.

Can you use regular oatmeal? The answer is yes you can, but the trick is getting it ground into a smooth enough paste to have your infant safely eat the oatmeal.

Another tip you may want to use is to put a bit of prune juice in the oatmeal, or some ghee into the oatmeal, to prevent constipation.
